This culinary pearl opened its doors at the location where the starred restaurant 't Ebdiep used to be located. Owners Annick and Jan designed their own story with a new name, but kept the sophistication and culinary of 't Ebdiep.

What concept does Café d'O provide?

"Our restaurant stands for classic, flavoursome cuisine with the necessary sophistication and a contemporary feel. Every month we design a new, fresh menu of four, five or six courses. All our dishes are freshly prepared using local produce and seasonal products. This clearly resonates with our guests, as we find that they really come for the culinary story and not just because they are hungry. As a result, our audience is very diverse. Not only couples find their way to Café d'O, but also families and business associates, both young and old. They all have one common trait: they are all people who enjoy good food!"

Your tables are always booked up quickly. What do you think is the success factor of your restaurant?

"We are lucky to enjoy one of Flanders' most beautiful terraces at Café d'O, but that is not our only success factor. We also owe our success to the strong and talented team that works here every day. In the kitchen, Nils Delvaux and Nicky Cami work alongside each other. Their expertise helps us establish a high-level catering concept. The fact that our venue is always fully booked on top days like Friday and Saturday proves that our approach pays off. Guests can enjoy culinary delights here, but in a carefree environment in which they feel at home."

The top dish on your menu?

"The highlight of our menu is undoubtedly our eel in green sauce. By cooperating with Schilders, the local eel supplier in Mariekerke, we can continuously guarantee our guests the best quality. The quality of our eel was even praised by Michelin with the words "The strength of Café d'O's fresh preparations is demonstrated with their eel in green". And we are proud of that!"

"At Café d'O, we attach great importance to communication with our guests. Resengo is our partner for communication before and after the visit, for example during the reservation or with the confirmation and reminder emails. Through the comments, guests often pass on essential info or certain questions. We also find feedback an interesting tool, as guests are given the choice to provide internal feedback. With that, we like to work on improving ourselves daily!

Besides automatic communication, Resengo also offers many other functionalities. For instance, our waiting lists, our phased arrival times and our gift vouchers are managed by the system. We also use Resengo for our newsletter, with which we keep guests informed about our latest menu. The mail system is quickly accessible and directly linked to our customer database, which also ensures that we are fully compliant with the GDPR."
